1.Who we are
IELTS Prep Hub (“we”, “us”) runs the IELTS preparation service at ieltsprephub.com and is responsible for the personal data described here. You can contact us about privacy at any time at ieltsprepsupport@googlegroups.com.
2.What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name and email address, and a password (stored only in hashed form by our sign-in provider). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
- Study profile and settings: for example your test type, target band, exam date, study preferences and display theme.
- Learning activity: your answers, scores, test history, mock exams, essays, saved vocabulary and the AI feedback you receive.
- Speaking practice: in recorded speaking practice, your browser’s built-in speech recognition turns your voice into text, and we receive the transcript, not the audio. (Some browsers, such as Chrome, use their own online speech service for this.) In the live AI examiner, your voice is streamed in real time to our voice provider to run the conversation; we do not record or store the audio.
- Messages: feedback or support requests you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type and request logs, processed by our hosting provider to deliver and secure the site.
- Usage counts: how many times you have used each AI feature, so free-plan limits can be applied.
- Local storage: we store small items in your browser, such as your sign-in session and theme preference. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.
Payment information
Purchases are handled by Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details and billing information directly and processes them under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your full card number. We receive your subscription status, plan and renewal dates so we can give you Premium.
3.How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and provide the Service, including marking tests and saving your progress (performance of our contract with you).
- To generate AI feedback, band estimates and examiner conversations when you ask for them (performance of contract).
- To build your study plan and show your progress (performance of contract).
- To manage subscriptions, apply free-plan limits and prevent abuse or fraud (contract and our legitimate interests).
- To answer your messages and send essential service emails such as password resets (contract and legitimate interests).
- To fix problems and improve the Service, using limited technical data (legitimate interests).
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation).
We do not sell your personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your essays or recordings to train our own AI models.
4.Service providers we share data with
We share personal data only with providers that help us run the Service, and only what each needs. AI providers receive the content you submit for feedback in order to return a result, under their API terms.

5.International transfers
Our providers operate in several countries, including the United States, so your data may be processed outside the country where you live. Where the law requires it, these transfers are protected by safeguards such as standard contractual clauses offered by the providers.
6.How long we keep data
- Account, profile and learning data are kept while your account is open.
- When you delete your account in Settings, we delete your account and study data. Copies in backups and logs are removed in the normal course of operation, usually within 30 days.
- Purchase and tax records are kept by Paddle and RevenueCat for as long as the law requires.
- Support messages are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request, and then for up to two years.
7.Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you can ask to:
- access the personal data we hold about you, or receive a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate data (most of it you can change yourself in Settings);
- delete your data — you can delete your account at any time in Settings;
- object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where we rely on it.
Email ieltsprepsupport@googlegroups.com to make a request. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.
8.Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), sign-in through an established identity provider, access rules that limit each account to its own data, and server-side checks on paid features. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.
9.Children
The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it. Users under 18 should use the Service with a parent or guardian’s permission.
10.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, tell you by email or in the app. See also our Terms of Service.
